Eagles-Giants Inactives: Rodney McLeod ruled OUT, Isaac Seumalo benched

Look at who’s in and who’s out.

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their Week 3 game against the New York Giants.

Starting safety Rodney McLeod is OUT. McLeod was put through a workout prior to the game but ultimately couldn’t suit up. That’s a big loss for the Birds.

With McLeod out, it’s Chris Maragos starting next to Malcolm Jenkins. Maragos is a good special teams contributor but he’s not counted upon much on defense. Newly acquired Trae Elston is the only other active safety.

None of the other inactives are surprising. It’s worth noting Torrey Smith (illness) is active, as expected, despite being ruled questionable on the final injury report.

In other news, Chance Warmack is starting at left guard. The Eagles have benched 2016 third-round pick Isaac Seumalo. There’s no question Seumalo struggled in his first two games. But it is interesting how quick of a hook the second-year player got after being named the undisputed starter in training camp.

Here’s a look at all seven names, along with some analysis.

Philadelphia Eagles Inactive List

S Rodney McLeod - Hamstring injury.

CB Ronald Darby - Ankle injury. Expected to return in two to four weeks.

DT Destiny Vaeao - Wrist injury.

S Corey Graham - Hamstring injury.

S Jaylen Watkins - Hamstring injury.

WR Shelton Gibson - Sixth wide receiver.

DE Steven Means - Fifth defensive end.

New York Giants Inactive List

New York cornerback Janoris Jenkins is ACTIVE despite not practicing much during the week. The Giants will be without starting right tackle Bobby Hart and starting middle linebacker B.J. Goodson.

RB Wayne Gallman

TE Matt LaCosse

QB Davis Webb

LB B.J. Goodson

OL Bobby Hart

LB J.T. Thomas

DE Avery Moss
