After beating the Washington Redskins in Week 1, the Philadelphia Eagles are back with another road game in Week 2.
This week’s game figures to be much tougher than last week’s tilt. The Eagles will be in Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.
Andy Reid’s side is 1-0 after defeating the New England Patriots with a comfortable lead on the night of the NFL’s opening kickoff game.
Philadelphia defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz will have his hands full trying to deal with the Chiefs’ offensive weapons. Alex Smith is at least a capable game manager who can distribute the ball to his play-makers. Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt, and Travis Kelce will pose problems for the Eagles’ defense. Philly will need to generate pressure much like they did against Kirk Cousins last Sunday.
On offense, the Eagles will be looking for a more consistent performance from Carson Wentz and the passing attack. Wentz made some incredible throws against Washington. He also left some plays on the field, especially when it came to the deep ball. The Eagles need to see more out of their run game, though it doesn’t seem poised for a major turnaround any time soon.
The battle of Doug Pederson, the mentee, versus Andy Reid, the mentor, will be an interesting chess match to watch. Can the Eagles march into Kansas City and get the upset? Or is Philadelphia not ready to take that next step? We’ll find out Sunday.
Here's everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
