The Philadelphia Eagles are sending the seventh-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft they received from the Saints in the Jon Dorenbos trade back to New Orleans, according to a report from Howard Eskin.
The Saints released Dorenbos this weekend after discovering he had an aortic aneurysm that will require open heart surgery. This issue could potentially end Dorenbos’ career, not to mention his life.
Sending the pick back is a good gesture by the Eagles. The Saints wanted it back and there’s no need for Philly to unnecessarily tarnish their relationship with New Orleans over the cost of a late round pick in a draft two years from now.
Also, who even cares about the pick at this point. The only thing that matters is that Dorenbos ends up being OK. Here’s hoping for the best. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him.
Here’s a look at the Eagles’ future draft picks now that the Dorenbos trade has been undone.
