The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2017 preseason schedule concludes on Thursday night with a game against the New York Jets.
We made it, folks. The final preseason game is here. The 2017 NFL regular season schedule begins in exactly one week. We just have to get through one more meaningless football game.
The bad news is that tonight’s game should be pretty boring and not very pretty. The Eagles will be resting their starters in the annual backup bowl against the Jets.
Given that Nick Foles hasn’t been practicing consistently, it seems like Matt McGloin will get the start for Philadelphia. He’s been pretty brutal at times this preseason so this game could get especially hard to watch.
The entertainment factor might not be very high in this game, but that doesn’t mean it’s meaningless for everyone. A number of players are still battling for jobs on the 53-man roster or the practice squad. Earlier this week, head coach Doug Pederson highlighted some roster battles that haven’t been determined yet.
Final roster cuts will take place before the 4:00 PM ET deadline on Saturday, Sept. 2. Tonight marks the last chance for players on the roster bubble to impress.
Here's everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
