The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2017 preseason schedule continues Thursday night with a game against the Miami Dolphins.
Unlike the first two preseason games, the Eagles’ starters are expected to play more than just a few drives. Based on how they handled the third preseason game (AKA the dress rehearsal game) last year, Philadelphia’s first team units will play into the third quarter.
The Eagles will be squaring off against the team they faced during joint training camp practices on Monday and Tuesday. Now it’ll be fun to see these teams go head-to-head in real game action, even though the outcome doesn’t matter.
All eyes will be on the Eagles’ offense this week — especially when it comes to Philadelphia’s running game. Wendell Smallwood is expected to play for the first time this preseason. The hope is for LeGarrette Blount to be a little more effective after only gaining 17 yards on his first nine preseason carries this summer.
Elsewhere, there are still a number of roster spots up in the air. Bubble players can improve their standings with the Eagles by showing up in these preseason games.
Along with airing locally on NBC10, note that tonight’s Eagles game will also be available to a national audience on NFL Network.
Here's everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
