Eagles-Dolphins Training Camp Practice Notes: Philadelphia’s defense dominates Miami’s offense

New, comments

Notes from the Eagles’ practice against the Dolphins.

NFL: Buffalo Bills at Philadelphia Eagles Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Tuesday was the 21st day of Philadelphia Eagles training camp practice. The Birds went up against the Miami Dolphins once again.

There's a lot to talk about, so let's dive right in. I wasn't able to be at practice so we'll take a look at some of the highlights from Twitter.

• Injury updates: Brandon Graham (elbow) and Jordan Hicks (groin) didn’t practice but they’re not seriously hurt. Doug Pederson said the two defensive starters are day-to-day. Derek Barnett (lower body injury) was a full go. Bryce Treggs (legs) and Najee Goode (groin) returned to practice. Nick Foles (elbow) missed practice again and will NOT play this week. His injury situation is kind of getting concerning. Josh Andrews (hand) and Paul Turner (shoulder) are still out. Destiny Vaeao and Vinny Curry both left practice early.

• A number of notable people showed up to watch today’s practice: Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison, former Eagles slot receiver Jason Avant, Sixers CEO Scott O’Neil (who I set a hard pick on in a pickup game at the team’s facility).

Quick thoughts:

• The Eagles’ defense seemed to do well against the Dolphins’ offense despite the fact Philadelphia was missing some key players such as Graham and Hicks. That’s a nice sign.

• Sounds like Carson Wentz had another good day overall. Good to see him bounce back after not having the best week of practice right after Jordan Matthews got traded.

LeGarrette Blount has seemingly stepped it up in practice. Probably not just a coincidence given some of the articles written about his roster security.

Alshon Jeffery: Still a beast.
