Eagles vs. Dolphins Practice Notes: Carson Wentz and Alshon Jeffery get the best of Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso

Observations from the Eagles’ practice against the Dolphins.

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles-Training Camp Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Monday was the 20th day of Philadelphia Eagles training camp practice. It was a special day because the team practiced against the Miami Dolphins.

There's a lot to talk about, so let's dive right in. I wasn't able to be at practice so we'll take a look at some of the highlights from Twitter.

• Injury updates: Derek Barnett (lower body injury) returned to practice. Bryce Treggs (legs), Josh Andrews (hand), and Paul Turner (shoulder) are still out. Turner’s shoulder injury will reportedly keep him out for the entire preseason. Brandon Graham (arm) left practice early but is reportedly not seriously hurt. Jordan Hicks also left practice early but it’s unclear why.

• A number of notable people showed up to watch today’s practice. The list includes: Charles Barkley, Billy Cunningham, Don Mattingly, Dee Gordon, Marvin Harrison, and Freddie Mitchell.

Quick thoughts:

• It sounds like Carson Wentz had a pretty good practice. Same for Alshon Jeffery. The two combined to beat Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso a number of times. Beautiful, right?

• Darby still looks good. Fun to see his interception was the final of play.

• Funny how Dave Fipp practiced a fake field goal against the Dolphins. He did that when the Eagles practiced against the Patriots back in 2013. Good time to work on that kind of thing.

Up next: The Eagles will hold their second of two joint training camp practices against the Miami Dolphins tomorrow. The two teams will be in shells and shorts - no pads. Stay tuned to BGN for more coverage.
