Alshon Jeffery and Ronald Darby will likely be suiting up for the Philadelphia Eagles’ game against the Buffalo Bills this week. Head coach Doug Pederson said as much during his post-practice press conference on Tuesday.
On Alshon Jeffery:
“I’m still working through that. I am leaning towards him playing, yes. He felt comfortable. We’ve talked about it. I’m comfortable with him going.”
On Ronald Darby:
Same thing. Same thing. Give him an opportunity to play, excited to watch him in live action.
Pederson said that the Eagles’ starters, including Carson Wentz, will likely only play “a drive, maybe two.”
Jeffery sat out last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers as a precautionary measure. He’s been a limited participant in practice for a good portion of camp but he’s been closer to a full participant recently.
As for Darby, he obviously only joined the team recently. His first practice was on Sunday so he still has catching up to do when it comes to the playbook.
Even though Jeffery and Darby likely won’t play much, it’ll still be interesting to see two of the Eagles’ new key players in action.
In other injury news, Nick Foles will not play. That means Matt McGloin will be backing up Wentz once again. Brandon Brooks and Wendell Smallwood are expected to be game time decisions.
Eagles versus Bills kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Thursday, August 17.
