Ezekiel Elliott suspension is reportedly “definite”

New, comments

It’s coming.

The Ezekiel Elliott suspension is going to happen. Pro Football Talk is reporting that it’s a “definite” that the Dallas Cowboys running back will be suspended very soon.

This news isn’t surprising. Adam Schefter reported earlier this summer that there was a “growing sense” Zeke will be suspended. Then earlier this week Cris Carter said Elliott’s suspension could be longer than two games. On Thursday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport said the Elliott suspension is coming as soon as today, August 11.

Elliott is expected to be suspended under the league’s personal conduct policy. Along with being investigated for a domestic violence incident for over a year, the Cowboys running back just hasn’t been able to stay out of trouble. Here’s a reminder of the off-field things Zeke has been involved with this offseason:

Zeke is one of the league’s brightest young talents. It’s not a good look for the NFL to have him in the headlines for those kind of negative reasons. Thus the reason for his expected suspension.

It’s still unclear exactly how many games Elliott will be suspended. Even if it’s just one game, though, that could make a difference in the playoff standings. He’s the Cowboys’ best player and it remains to be seen how they’d fare without him.

Expect the news to be officially announced soon.
