Another Cowboys player reportedly got arrested

Not good for Dallas.

Another Cowboys player is in trouble. Dallas linebacker Damien Wilson was arrested yesterday evening and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a report from FOX4.

Wilson obviously isn’t a household name by any means, but he’s quietly a valuable contributor for the Cowboys. The 2015 fourth-round pick has made five starts in 32 games played. Wilson played the third most snaps of any Dallas linebacker in 2016. He also logged the second most special teams snaps of any Cowboys player last season (only four snaps behind the leader).

It remains to be seen what punishment Wilson will face. In the meantime, his name joins the list of Cowboys players who have been in the news for bad reasons this offseason. Former Eagles corner Nolan Carroll was arrested for DWI on Memorial Day. Ezekiel Elliott is still under investigation for a past incident and could face discipline from the league. David Irving, one of the Cowboys’ best pass rushers, didn’t get in legal trouble but he got hit with a four-game suspension for a PED violation. So much for #culture.

The Cowboys finished with a 13-3 record in 2016. Dallas could easily take a step back in 2017 as these potential losses pile up. The Philadelphia Eagles certainly wouldn’t mind seeing their NFC East rivals falter.
