Eagles sign a cornerback

Season saved.

NFL: Preseason-Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles officially signed free agent corenrback Tay Glover-Wright on Monday afternoon. The team had an open roster spot after making some moves last week.

The Eagles will likely have another roster spot opening soon. The team is expected to make a move with undrafted rookie free agent cornerback Randall Goforth. Doug Pederson recently confirmed Goforth suffered a season-ending ACL injury last week.

With that in mind, Glover-Wright is just around to give the Eagles another cornerback in training camp. The 25-year-old cornerback has bounced around the NFL since going undrafted in 2014. He spent two games on the Colts’ roster in 2015. Philadelphia worked out Glover-Wright late during the 2016 season.

The Eagles still need a lot of help at cornerback and Glover-Wright obviously isn’t likely to be a solution. It remains to be seen if Philadelphia will address the position via another veteran signing or trade. Or maybe the Eagles will really just stick with what they’ve got, which isn’t a very inspiring group right now.
