Greg Ward made an incredible catch on the first day of Eagles training camp (VIDEO)

Pretty impressive!

There’s no question Greg Ward made the play of the day during the Philadelphia Eagles’ first training camp practice. Just watch the undrafted free agent wide receiver leap into the air for this one-handed grab in the end zone. (Click here to play or watch the video below.)

This is a great catch by any standard. It’s especially impressive, though, for an undrafted prospect who played quarterback in college and now is moving to wide receiver in the NFL.

Ward’s first practice wasn’t defined by this single play, either. He had a nice day all around by making a number of catches.

It was just one practice, but more showings like this from Ward could help him earn a spot on the practice squad this year. The Eagles kept converted quarterback David Watford on their scout team last year as a wide receiver.

Ward has looked better than Watford so far, including spring practices. Ward might even be pushing for the Eagles to keep him as a sixth receiver on the active roster. The rookie is clearly still raw but it’ll be interesting to monitor his progress this summer.
