Jordan Hicks Injury: Eagles linebacker “shouldn’t miss any time”

Great news.

Jordan Hicks appears to be ready for Philadelphia Eagles training camp despite suffering a hand injury in late June.

“He injured his hand and he needed a minor procedure to fix that,” Doug Pederson told the team’s official website. “He shouldn’t miss any time. We’re going to keep on top of it and take it day by day with him. We may limit him a little bit, but he should be out there every day.”

Hicks’ injury was never believed to be super serious, but it’s still nice to see Pederson confirm the linebacker won’t miss any time. Hicks is a great young linebacker who is very important to the team’s defense.

Hicks wasn’t the only Jordan that Pederson gave an injury update on.

Pederson said that left tackle Jason Peters is managed during his camp time to stay fresh and that wide receiver Jordan Matthews could be limited just a bit with the number of reps he takes after missing time in the spring with a knee injury.

Matthews nearly missed the entirety of spring practices due to a knee tendinitis issue that dates back to last season. One can only wonder when the team’s primary slot receiver will be 100% healthy.

The Eagles had Nelson Agholor fill in for Matthews during spring practices. If Matthews is limited, Agholor could see some more looks with the first team in training camp.
