Throwing Kirk Cousins under the bus just wasn’t enough for the Washington Redskins.
Not only did the team attempt to make him look bad by revealing the long-term contract details he didn’t agree to — they also messed up his name during the announcement!
Here’s Washington president Bruce Allen clearly saying “Kurt” instead of “Kirk.”

This wasn’t just a one-time slip, either. He said it wrong four more times in the same announcement!
Amazingly, one reporter asked team representation about Allen’s mistake. Via ESPN:
Asked about Allen's pronunciation of Cousins' first name, a team spokesman said it sounded that way because of the Redskins president's accent.
Lmao.
Oddly enough, this actually isn’t the first time Allen has done this with Cousins. Washington fans were quick to point out he does this regularly.
Meantime, Allen was given an opportunity to say Cousins’s first name correctly, and suggested that those who have mocked him for saying “Kurt” instead of “Kirk” are “out of touch.”
Of all the Kirk Cousins news out there, this might be the most important development... #Redskins #KirkNotKurt pic.twitter.com/niBaqxV6Wg

The good news for Allen is that he won’t have to worry about getting it wrong for much longer. The bad news is his team will be without their starting quarterback after this season.
