DeAngelo Williams rips the Cowboys and their bandwagon fans

Lol Dallas.

Veteran free agent running back DeAngelo Williams recently sat down for an interview with ESPN’s Adam Schefter and for some reason mentioned four teams he does not want to play for this season. The Philadelphia Eagles, who are already set at running back for this season, were not one of the teams mentioned by Williams. But he did mention one of the Eagles’ biggest rivals: the Dallas Cowboys.

I think Eagles fans might enjoy how Williams really ripped into Dallas. He basically called the Cowboys chokers and ripped the supporters for being bandwagon fans. Transcript below:

“The Cowboys, they win. They just don’t ever show up during the playoffs, though. Like they always disappear in the playoffs. I got a great depiction of the Cowboys fan base during the regular season last year. They were on cloud nine. You couldn’t tell them anything. Anything. Because they were gonna win the [championship], that’s all they said. Fans just got extremely super annoying.

And then the minute they lost, they either got cheated, somebody was hurt, the excuses start flowing, it’s just amazing to me, that fan base in general, they can’t handle defeat. Still to this day they say the Dez Bryant catch against the Green Bay Packers was a catch.”

In the interest of being fair, let’s fact check Williams here. Do the Cowboys actually choke?

First overall seed, playing at home, losing in their first game ... yep, the math checks out, folks.

It’s not like Dallas needs Williams since they’re already set at running back. But I just think it’s funny how at least one NFL player views the Cowboys like Eagles fans do: chokers with a fraudulent fan base.
