Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz officially announced the launch of his new “Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation” on Tuesday. Wentz talked about his nonprofit in a video posted on his official Twitter account.

Here’s more information from an official press release.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is proud to announce the launch of the Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation whose mission is to “demonstrate the love of God by providing opportunities and support for the less fortunate and those in need.”

The Carson Wentz AO1 (“Audience of One”) Foundation focuses on three main objectives that reflect some of Wentz’s deepest passions in life – his faith, his enthusiasm for the outdoors and his avid love for dogs:

· Service dogs: To support youth in the Philadelphia area by providing service dogs to assist with their development and quality of life

· Hunting and outdoor opportunities: To provide hunting and outdoor opportunities for individuals with physical challenges, the underserved and military veterans living in the Midwest

· Underprivileged youth: To care for and provide food, shelter and educational opportunities for underprivileged youth living abroad

In addition to financially supporting programs that align with the objectives of the Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation, Wentz will work to extend the foundation’s reach by sharing his testimony, participating in mission trips and actively promoting his love for dogs and the outdoors.

The Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation kicks off on Wednesday, July 12, with a private event at the Oxbow Country Club in Oxbow, ND, where there will be a night of silent and live auctions, as well as musical entertainment and a wild game dinner.

Always nice to see players making charitable efforts. Earlier this year Wentz went on a mission trip to Haiti. Now he’s launching his own foundation. Carson seems like a good dude.
