The Philadelphia Eagles are one of several teams who have shown interest in free agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter. The other teams mentioned include the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and Cleveland Browns.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, Schefter reported Maclin currently has visits scheduled with the Bills and Ravens. He’s set to visit Buffalo today on Tuesday before traveling to Baltimore on Wednesday.
Philadelphia obviously isn’t too far from Baltimore so maybe Maclin will make a stop back in the City of Brotherly Love. That’s just a guess, but it could make some sense.
I don’t get the feeling that Maclin will end up signing with the Eagles. Other teams seem primed to offer him more money and playing opportunity. This report could be the case of Maclin’s agent linking his client to a logical landing spot in order to increase their leverage.
It’d be pretty cool to be wrong about that, though. Maclin is still a good player so it’d be hard to complain about giving Carson Wentz another weapon. In addition, Maclin is a class act off the field who has always been easy to root for. It’d be nice to see him back in midnight green.
It’ll be interesting to see where Maclin ends up. Given the market that’s seemingly forming for him, it probably shouldn’t take too long until he finds his new NFL home.
