Well, this isn’t the kind of news anyone wanted to hear.
Eagles linebacker Jordan Hicks injured his hand while getting out of a pool during his honeymoon in Greece, according to a report from Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice. More details on the severity:
The exact severity of Hicks' injury is not yet known, as he has not yet gone for X-rays in Greece, where he remains for now. However, he did send video of his hand, performing an array of motions for team doctors to view. The Eagles do not believe the injury to be overly significant. A source with the Eagles explained that even if it is broken, the likelihood is that it would only be about a four-week injury.
Note that BGN Radio’s John Barchard was told Hicks suffered a broken hand.
It’s obviously never good news when a player gets hurt, but at least it seems like the injury isn’t too serious. There’s still just under a month until Eagles players report for training camp on Thursday, July 26. There’s even more time before the regular season begins on Sunday, Sept. 10.
Hicks is a very talented player. It’s a shame he’s been so injury prone during his career. Hopefully this is injury doesn’t prove to hamper him in any way. The Eagles are already light when it comes to linebacker depth so they need him to stay healthy.
