Two Eagles players notably missed out on the NFL Top 100 list

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Network recently wrapped up their annual offseason fluff series of the top 100 players as voted on by the players. A total of three Philadelphia Eagles made the final cut:

Fletcher Cox - 38th (Last year: 49th)

Malcolm Jenkins - 90th (Last year: 107th)

Brandon Graham - 93rd (Last year: Unranked)

New Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount also made the list at 80th overall, but he obviously wasn’t with Philadelphia last season.

One Eagles player just barely missed out on this year’s NFL Top 100 list. Can you guess who it is? If you guessed Jason Peters, you are correct. The recently re-signed left tackle finished at the No. 106 spot.

Another notable Eagles player who didn’t quite “just miss the list” but was singled out by the NFL Network anyway is quarterback Carson Wentz. He finished at No. 171. Here’s a cool video on Wentz.

Hopefully Wentz will end up ranked much higher on the NFL Top 100 next year. Not that this list matters, but you get the point. Wentz clearly showed some potential in 2016. Now he needs to take the next step.

Cox, Jenkins, and Graham could all reasonably make this list again next year. Peters is on the bubble. Jordan Hicks is a name that deserved to make this year’s list. He’ll probably start to get more national attention if he balls out again this season. Alshon Jeffery could also make an appearance if he just stays healthy.

Who all do you think will make the NFL Top 100 next year? And who do you think got snubbed in this year’s edition?
