Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
Eagles WR Jordan Matthews on trade rumors: 'That’s fake news. Alternative facts' - Inquirer
Jordan Matthews was rumored to be available via trade this offseason. The Eagles' fourth-year receiver did not sound concerned about the speculation. “That’s fake news. Alternative facts,” Matthews said Tuesday with a smile. “I don’t really care about that stuff, bro. I feel like it’s the NFL – everybody has a price. Those talks, they happen. It really doesn’t faze me in any way.”
Eagles Practice Notes: 25 things we learned - BGN
Updates on Carson Wentz, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Timmy Jernigan, Derek Barnett, and more.
Jason Kelce ignoring trade rumors as he tries to work on himself - CSN Philly
So it all makes sense, but Kelce is trying to keep it out of his mind. "I think you'll drive yourself crazy if you're reading too much into what's going on," he said on Tuesday as the Eagles kicked off their voluntary OTAs. "My whole offseason has just kind of been really the only thing I can control is my game and the way I play and what I've been doing. So I've just really tried to hit the weight room, work on technique, work on things to try to get my game back to where it used to be."
Blount on NFL's new celebration rule: 'I never knew what the rule was in the first place' - PhillyVoice
“I didn’t know that [they changed them],” Blount said with a laugh. “I never knew what the rule was in the first place, so I definitely don’t know what it is now. What is it?”
Practice Talk - Iggles Blitz
While DGB didn’t handle the situation well, it sounds like Nelson Agholor did. Good. He really struggled last year, but the kid has talent. It would be great if things clicked for him and he played well.
Alshon Jeffery already looks like the target Carson Wentz needs - ESPN
The first thing you notice when looking out onto the Philadelphia Eagles' practice field is the new-look receiving corps. As Carson Wentz commanded the offense during Tuesday's first day of OTAs, he was flanked by the 6-foot-3, 218-pound Alshon Jeffery and burner Torrey Smith -- two of the Eagles' top free-agent acquisitions in an offseason dedicated to bolstering the support system around the young quarterback. Tuesday was the first time that Wentz was able to test his new weapons out against an opposing defense. While there were a couple glitches along the way, he got a taste of what his new wideouts bring to the table -- particularly Jeffery.
First-Round Picks Share A Career Story - PE.com
At various points on the first day of Organized Team Activities for the Eagles, a pair of former first-round draft picks lined up against each other, both trying to make a play, trying to resurrect careers. Patrick Robinson was the 32nd player taken in the 2010 NFL Draft. Nelson Agholor was the 20th overall pick in 2015. They have a lot in common.
Film Room: Derek Barnett’s hustle defines his game as a pass rusher - Field Gulls
Barnett is a high effort player and doesn’t take plays off. His relentless motor was extremely impressive. I don’t think he’s going to produce Von Miller type numbers in the pros, but he could become a very solid edge player for his career. For his player comparison, I think he’s most similar to Brian Orakpo from the Tennessee Titans. Both are hustle players who are better as strongside edge defenders in the NFL. Both defenders also heavily rely on one pass rushing move. Overall, I gave this pick an “A”, because his effort and run defending abilities are excellent.
Pederson: ‘Very Confident’ Wentz Will Be Special - CBS Philly
“He’s always wanting to get better, he’s always wanting to learn, and those types of guys sometimes are hard to find. So I’m very confident and very comfortable that he’s going to be one of those special guys in this league for a long time.”
Report: David Irving Facing 4-Game Suspension For Failed Drug Test - Blogging The Boys
Just what the Cowboys didn’t need, a possible issue with their defensive line.
NFL voted on rule changes for the 2017 season, and we graded each one - SB Nation
Letting players have fun with touchdown celebrations makes sense, and shortening overtime does not.
