They couldn’t keep G.J. Kinne out of the game for long.

One week after retiring as a player, the former Philadelphia Eagles legend is now taking up a coaching job at Southern Methodist University in Texas.

Kinne, who recently got married, announced the news on Twitter on Thursday evening. The former NFL quarterback will be working with SMU’s offensive line while serving as an offensive graduate assistant.

There’s little doubt this is just the start of Kinne’s promising coaching career. It should only be a matter of time before we’re calling him the next Bill Belichick.

Seriously, though, it would be great to see Kinne work his way up through the ranks and rejoin the Eagles one day.

Speaking of returning, I have a question for you, Eagles fans. Would you attend a G.J. Kinne retirement/celebration party if we host a party in Philly? Because we just might do that. G.J. already said he’s down for it. So let me know in the poll below. It could be fun.
