The Philadelphia Eagles released wide receiver Rasheed Bailey, according to an official announcement from the team.
This news is certainly a bummer. Bailey, a Philadelphia native, was a fan favorite who rejoined the team earlier this offseason.
The Eagles had originally signed Bailey as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He had a nice summer but it wasnt enough for him to stick on be roster or the practice squad. After being cut by the Eagles, Bailey spent made a few stops elsewhere around the NFL.
Bailey was a big long shot to make the Eagles’ roster this season but it would have been cool to see the local guy give it his best.
The Eagles waived Bailey in order to make room for their 2017 undrafted free agent signings. Philadelphia is officially expected to announce those undrafted free agent deals before rookie minicamp begins later this week.
We’ll miss you, Rasheed.
