Philadelphia is truly the best city.
Sure, I’m biased. But that’s my honest takeaway from the massively successful 2017 NFL Draft held. And really, it wasn’t just me.
Wildest, most raucous atmosphere in draft history. Philadelphia bringing it.

After three days in Philadelphia, everyone working on the ESPN broadcast team now knows the Eagles' fight song by heart.

Props to the people of Philadelphia. That's how to host a draft. No city has injected that much energy, electricity, excitement into draft.

Not to overkill the point but never witnessed a scene at the #NFLDraft2017 like here pic.twitter.com/DJ23yFPFwJ

Philly: You absolutely KILLED it. Best draft experience ever. The standard has been set for every future draft city to try and match

The city represented even better than I expected. That's going to be hard to top. Well done.

Bill Belichick texted Mike Mayock and told him that he was blown away by the energy coming through his TV set from Philly

Philadelphia has done a tremendous job hosting this #NFLDraft

Philadelphia is as passionate a football town as there is. Much love to my hometown & the fans for being great hosts for the 2017 #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/yRJybrEeVZ

The numbers speak for themselves. A record-breaking crowd of 250,000 — one quarter of a million! — people. Exactly ZERO arrests. Yes, you read that corectly. ZERO!
The atmosphere was awesome and energetic. The weather was beautiful. There were no shortage of entertainment options for the fans.
Speaking of fans, Philadelphia Eagles fans — the best in the world — were represented in full force. The following story was literally my first experience at the draft after stepping out of my ride to get there.
First thing I hear after arriving at the draft, some guy tells a cop someone needs to be arrested. For being a Cowboys fan. #Philly

Eagles fans were there to boo the hell out of Roger Goodell and former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dear Pearson. They were also there to cheer and chant the Eagles’ fight song every chance they got. Eagles fans made it very clear their passion can not be rivaled.
I speak for all of us here at Bleeding Green Nation and BGN Radio when I say we are incredibly grateful and indebted to your tremendous passion, Eagles fans. Without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Without you, we wouldn’t have been the FIRST and ONLY podcast to EVER broadcast from the ENTIRETY of the NFL Draft. Without you, we wouldn’t have been able to interview the first Eagles quarterback I ever knew growing up: Donovan McNabb.
The BGN Radio Crew sat down with Donovan McNabb! Has he changed his mind on Wentz?

I mean it when I say it was an honor to meet all of you who came over to see us. The same goes for those who couldn’t come out but still took the time to watch our broadcast and/or read the website. Thank you so, so much.
Too often does Philadelphia get a bad rep. Sure, we can be rough around the edges. But that’s just who we are, and there’s nothing to be ashamed about it.
The reality is we’re extremely passionate people. Sometimes that passion isn’t always channeled in the best way, but for the most part, it is. And the success of the 2017 NFL Draft is the perfect example of how truly awesome the city of Philadelphia and Eagles fans can be.
In 1936, the FIRST ever NFL Draft was held in Philadelphia. 81 years later, the BEST ever NFL Draft was held in Philadelphia.
And really, I don’t see good reason why it should ever leave the city again.
