The Eagles are set to host 2017 NFL Draft cornerback prospect Kevin King on an official pre-draft visit, according to NFL analyst Charles Davis. King is one of 30 prospects who will have visited Philadelphia leading up to this year’s draft.
King has great size for his position at 6-3, 200 pounds. He’s also a very athletic corner. He absolutely killed the NFL Combine this year; just check out his spider graph below.
Playing against from the now-injured Sidney Jones, King was a productive player during his four years at Washington. He finished his college football career with 164 tackles, 22 passes defensed, six interceptions, and two forced fumbles.
The Eagles obviously have a need at cornerback so King might be an instant fit for Philadelphia. CBS Sports projects King to be a late Day 1 or early Day 2 pick.
BGN draft writer Ben Natan, meanwhile, lists King as the No. 13 corner in this year’s class.
Another tall cornerback, Kevin King is an outstanding athlete at the position and flashes really impressive ball skills. Besides that, he could stand to improve his technique and awareness a lot, but the pay off on betting on his upside could be huge.
King received an invite to the draft in Philadelphia. That could be another sign he could be drafted relatively early. If the Eagles draft him, the hope would be for him to immediately challenge for a starting role.
