The Philadelphia Eagles are no longer picking at No. 155 in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Birds traded their fifth-round selection to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for No. 164 and No. 214.
It seems possible the Eagles may have been targeting another cornerback in the fifth round but notable targets Damontae Kazee, Desmond King, and Corn Elder all went off the board right before them. Howie Roseman got got.
Here’s how a look the trade shapes up in terms of the draft pick value chart.
EAGLES RECEIVE: No. 164 (25.8 points) and No. 214 (5.8 points) = 31.6 points
TITANS RECEIVE: No. 155 points (29.4 points) = 29.4 points
So missing out on a corner run obviously wasn’t ideal, but at least the Eagles got reasonable value by moving down.
