One of the more interesting things to watch in the 2017 NFL Draft is where Gareon Conley will end up. Prior to this week, the Ohio State cornerback was thought to be a consensus first-round pick. Some had him going as high as No. 6. Many thought he’d be targeted be the Eagles, who were rumored to “love” him, at No. 14.
But then Conley was reportedly accused of sexual assault. Conley quickly denied the allegations. Still, such a serious accusation can not be easily dismissed. It would not be shocking to see NFL teams have hesitation in drafting him without knowing the whole story.
It appears Conley might not be falling too far in the draft, however. Check out these notes.
The eagles and other NFL teams have done their homework on Gareon Conley and feel he's innocent.. Shouldn't affect draft status.

Perhaps I am in the minority, but more phone calls I make and more teams I talk to, more convinced I am Gareon Conley gets selected tonight

If these reports are true, one might think Conley is still in play for the Eagles at No. 14. That would be surprising considering the news about the allegations. But if NFL teams feel comfortable with Conley, it’s hard to see him lasting very longer.
One possible suggestion is the Cowboys could draft Conley if he falls. Dallas badly needs help at that spot. The Cowboys have shown they’re willing to take risk on players with concerns, so it would make sense. Of course, he wouldn’t be on the board at No. 28 for the Cowboys if the Eagles took him at No. 14.
It remains to be seen if there’s any substance to these Conley rumors. We’ll have to see how it plays out.
