The 2017 NFL schedule won’t be officially released until later tonight at 8:00 PM ET, but it appears some leaks have already started to take place. The New York Giants’ schedule seemingly leaks early almost every year, which means we usually get to see when they play the Philadelphia Eagles in advance of any official announcement.
It appears the Eagles and Giants will square off in Week 3 (in Philadelphia) and Week 15 (in New York New Jersey) this year, per WFAN’s Mike Francesa. This leak also matches up with what NJ.com’s Mark Eckel is reporting.
For Eagles and Giants fans who want a little tease, the NFC East rivals will meet Sept. 24 at Lincoln Financial Field and Dec. 17 at MetLife Stadium, according to someone with access to the schedules.
Eagles versus Giants games have been something to look forward to for Philadelphia fans for a long time now. Because, you know, the Eagles own the Giants. The Birds are 14-4 in their last 18 games against the G-Men. In their last eight meetings at Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles are 6-2 against the Giants. If history holds up, it’s nice that the Eagles play the Giants so early on in the season.
This is potentially just the first of more potential schedule leaks on the way. Stay tuned to Bleeding Green Nation for more coverage.
