DeSean Jackson expected to sign with Buccaneers

WR market continues to narrow

NFL: Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

As has been widely expected, DeSean Jackson will sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when free agency begins this afternoon, reports Adam Schefter.

Jason LaCanfora reports that the Redskins, who lost Pierre Garcon to the 49ers, are still trying to retain him, however he too expects Jackson to sign with Tampa.

Jackson is 30 but is coming off his third season leading the league in yards per attempt.

The Eagles seemed a logical landing spot for a reunion, but there were never any serious connections between the two. The Eagles are still in the chase for trading for the Saints’ Brandin Cooks. With another wide receiver off the market, and it being another starting deep threat, those talks could escalate.

Contract details are not yet available. Jackson had reportedly been seeking around $12 million a season, but so was Kenny Stills, who re-signed with the Dolphins last night for an $8 million average.
