Eagles bringing back Najee Goode in 2017, per report

The Eagles made a move! They’re bringing back linebacker and special teams contributor Najee Goode on a one-year deal, per ESPN’s Dan Graziano.

From Graziano:

Source says Eagles are bringing back LB Najee Goode on a one-year deal. Good special teams player who helps as a depth LB for a team that could see an overhaul at that position.

“Could see an overhaul at the position,” you say, Mr. Graziano? Tell us more about what you know!

Just kidding. We all know Mychal Kendricks will likely be on the move before Saturday, when most of his 2017 money becomes guaranteed. And Stephen Tulloch, who turned 32 in January, is set to become a free agent.

As far as Goode, 26, is concerned, this seems like a solid, if boring, move. (Perhaps even a... goode move!) This will be his second straight one-year deal with the team; last offseason he signed a one-year, $675K deal with the team and saw just two defensive snaps, but 292 special teams snaps.

Goode is a locker room favorite, too, so having him return to a team focused on building consistency makes sense.

ESPN’s Adam Caplan says the deal isn’t too pricey:
