NFL rade rumors are heating up as the new league year starts next week, and there’s an interesting addition on the Philadelphia Eagles side:
One backup QB drawing interest on the trade market: #Eagles QB Chase Daniel. As teams try to improve there, Daniel is one to watch.

Yes, this is a real tweet. And it’s not entirely shocking as Daniel drew interest last year in free agency:
There were at least 6 teams that I know of that had interest in Chase Daniel.

If traded, the Eagles would incur a $2 million dead cap hit up but free up $6 million in cap space. They would also then be on the market for a backup quarterback, though since Daniel is the highest paid backup in the league a replacement would be cheaper.
Daniel, who was basically a player-coach for the Eagles in 2016, has $5 million in guaranteed salary, is 30 years old and has 78 career pass attempts, so the return wouldn’t be high.
With the futures of Connor Barwin, Jason Kelce and Mychal Kendricks in the air, it would be a little funny if Chase Daniel was the first or only one traded for.
