THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOMENT IN PHILADELPHIA EAGLES FRANCHISE HISTORY IS SET TO TAKE PLACE THIS WEEK.
That’s right: a coin toss will be held at the NFL Combine on Friday, March 3 at 12:30 PM ET to decide if the Philadelphia Eagles will pick at No. 14 or No. 15 in the 2017 NFL Draft. (Hat tip to our friend Dave Spadaro.)
The actual coin, says Howie Roseman, is “double-headed, even though tails never fails, and has the logo of the Vikings on one side of the coin and the logo of the Colts on the other side.
“If you have any good-luck things for me to bring to the coin flip, let me know.”
Roseman will be there to represent the Eagles at the coin flip, along with possibly head coach Doug Pederson and vice president of personnel Joe Douglas if their schedules permit. Roseman surely hopes for the Minnesota logo to land heads up so that the Eagles have the better of the two picks in the first round.
“We’re all hoping for the best,” Roseman said. “It’s a big week for this organization, including the coin flip. We’re excited.”
Good call on the tails never fails, Howie.
The winner of the coin toss will pick at No. 14. Hopefully that’ll be the Eagles. The loser of the toss will pick at No. 15. Hopefully that will be the Colts, although their home field advantage in Indianapolis could make things tough.
If the Eagles lose the coin toss, I will surely reference the following tweet. If they win, I will conveniently fail to mention the following tweet.
Shouldn’t the loser of the Eagles-Colts coin toss get the better pick in the draft? The teams with the worse records get better picks.
