25 years ago today, a legend was born.
And how thankful the Philadelphia Eagles are for having that legend to call their franchise quarterback.
That’s right: it’s Carson Wentz’s birthday.
Funny enough, Wentz shares his birthday with some other legendary athletes. LeBron James was also born on December 30th. In addition to being a big Wentz fan, he’s obviously one of the best players in NBA history. Then there’s Tiger Woods, arguably the best golfer of all time. Add Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax to the list as well.
2017 has been a magical season for the Eagles and it’s largely thanks to No. 11. He’s been fantastic in his second year on the job; a true candidate for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award.
It obviously really sucks that Wentz is out for the rest of this season due to a torn ACL. But for now, let’s take a moment to celebrate a player who will lead the Eagles to success for many years to come.
2017 stats: 60.2% completion, 3297 yards, 33 TD, 7 INT, 101.9 passer rating, 299 rush yards
