NFL Picks Against the Spread 2017: Week 15 Games

Here are some suggestions when trying to beat the odds.

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Before the 15th Sunday of the 2017 NFL regular season kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the spreads for today’s games. (Click here for NFL Week 15 picks without regard to the spread.)

Here are suggestions when trying to beat the odds. You can find all of today’s NFL betting lines and more via SB Nation. My regular season record after the 14th week is 99-85-7. Let’s get to the picks.

NFL Week 15 Games

Arizona Cardinals at Washington Redskins (-4): Both of these teams are really banged up. It’s hard to have a great feel for this one because there are just so many injuries. I think what it comes down to is that I don’t trust Blaine Gabbert and company to get a win on the road against Kirk Cousins. But if that does happen, you can sure bet we’re gonna make fun of the man we refer to as Kurt Coupons. PICK: Washington -4

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (-11): The Jags are legit. They’re going to win the AFC South. They haven’t officially done that, so they’ll be hungry to do so. T.J. Yates is no match for Jacksonville’s defense. PICK: Jaguars -11

Green Bay Packers at Carolina Panthers (-3): Aaron Rodgers is back, baby. The Panthers played the Vikings tough last week, yes. But I still don’t buy Carolina enough to beat the best football player on the planet. I’m not gonna be the guy who bets against Rodgers. I like him with the points. PICK: Packers +3

New York Jets at New Orleans Saints (-16): Dang, that’s a lot of points. But is it really all that crazy? I don’t think so. The Jets are on the road again after coming off a 23-0 loss in Denver. New York lost Josh McCown for the season so now it’s … (googles “jets starting quarterback”) … Bryce Petty starting. Yikes. The Saints are going to bounce back after losing on Thursday Night Football last week. The extra rest is just another edge for them. PICK: Saints -16

Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5) at New York Giants: The Eagles are probably going to win this game. The Giants are bad and banged up. They’re not looking very motivated, either. With Carson Wentz out and Nick Foles starting, there’s certainly some uncertainty here. It’s just a matter of figuring out if the Eagles can win by more than a touchdown. I think they can win at least by 10. So I’ll take the Birds, who are 10-3 against the spread this season. Best record ATS in the NFL. PICK: Eagles -7.5

Baltimore Ravens (-7) at Cleveland Browns: The Ravens are actually playing good football recently. So are the Browns. Ha, just seeing if you were paying attention. Baltimore should be able to take care of business against the Browns. PICK: Ravens -7

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills (-3): I don’t know why, but I just have a feeling about this one. Against my better judgement, I’m riding with Miami. I feel like I shouldn’t be because they’ve been really bad at times. And the game is in Buffalo. And it’s a short week for Adam Gase’s team. But I don’t know! I can’t go against my gut. PICK: Dolphins +3

Cincinnati Bengals at Minnesota Vikings (-11): The Bengals lost to *Chicago* last week by 33-7. And the game was in Cincy! That’s just embarrassing. I don’t see how the Bengals march into Minnesota and play well. The Vikings are going to be motivated after losing to Carolina. Plus Mike Zimmer is going to want to beat his former team. PICK: Vikings -11

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks (-1): The Seahawks are 43-8 in their last 51 home games. They’re just so good at home. I don’t like betting against them there. I know the Rams are good and it wouldn’t surprise me if they won. I just feel more comfortable going with Seattle. PICK: Seahawks -1

New England Patriots (-2.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers: The Patriots always own the Steelers. Pittsburgh hasn’t looked THAT great recently. They’re been winning, yeah, but they’ve looked far from unbeatable. The Pats are gonna be pissed after losing to Miami on Monday night. This a huge game and it’s hard to bet against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. PICK: Patriots -2.5

Tennessee Titans at San Francisco 49ers (-1.5): Jimmy Garoppolo is looking like the real deal. I can’t believe I’m picking the 49ers to win their third game in a row, but a quarterback changes everything. Tennessee isn’t as good as their record suggests. Just look at how they rank in DVOA and point differential. Marcus Mariota hasn’t been great. They lost to Gabbert in Arizona. I’m going with San Fran. PICK: 49ers -1.5

Dallas Cowboys (-3) at Oakland Raiders: Oakland’s defense is baaaad. Derek Carr hasn’t been good either. Just not a lot of good stuff going for this Oakland team right now. I’m totally not trying to jinx Dallas by taking them here. PICK: Cowboys -3

Atlanta Falcons (-6) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Bucs are trash. Atlanta is playing well and they’re rested after coming off Thursday Night Football. The Falcons are playing to stay in good shape in the NFC playoff picture. PICK: Falcons -6
