The Philadelphia Eagles have officially ended Carson Wentz’s 2017 season by placing the starting quarterback on injured reserve.

Wentz, as we know, suffered an ACL injury during the Eagles’ win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Head coach Doug Pederson confirmed the news on Monday. Wentz has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

With Wentz out, the Eagles are moving forward with Nick Foles as their starting quarterback. Nate Sudfeld is the backup to Foles. (The Eagles’ third string emergency quarterback is ... Trey Burton?)

By placing Wentz on injured reserve, the Eagles have opened up a roster spot. It’s possible the team signs special teams demon Bryan Braman, who they reportedly worked out earlier on Tuesday.

Wentz is just one of several key players the Eagles have lost to injured reserve this season, but he’s the most important one. Here’s a look at the entire list:

INJURED RESERVE

QB Carson Wentz

OT Jason Peters

LB Jordan Hicks

RB Darren Sproles

S Chris Maragos

K Caleb Sturgis

CB Randall Goforth

DT Aziz Shittu

WR Dom Williams
