It is official: the Philadelphia Eagles are 2017 NFC East Champions.

The Eagles clinched the division by defeating the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday by a final score of 43 to 35.

The news is obviously bittersweet with reports circulating that Carson Wentz might be out for the season due to an ACL injury. Ugh.

Winning the NFC East was really just a formality for the Eagles at this point, but now it’s official.

By winning the division, the Eagles locked up their spot in the 2018 NFL Playoffs. They’re the first team in the league to do so this season.

There’s still work to be done. Philadelphia is still trying to clinch the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC Playoff Picture, which would guarantee them a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the post-season leading up to the Super Bowl.

Who knows how far this team can go if Wentz is really done for the year. Maybe they can make the most of a bad situation.

Or maybe life is pointless and then you die.
