Eagles-Cowboys Final Injury Report: At least two Dallas starters ruled out

Final Eagles injury update.

NFL: Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles released their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 11 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Alshon Jeffery is the only player listed on the Eagles’ injury report. He’s officially been ruled questionable due to an ankle injury.

It doesn’t sound like Jeffery is in jeopardy of missing Sunday’s game. The wide receiver said he’s going to play. Doug Pederson said he expects Jeffery to play. Jeffery was a full participant in Friday’s practice.

Here’s everything Pederson had to say about Jeffery on Friday morning.

Q. WR Alshon Jeffery was added to the injury report yesterday. What is the status of him and TE Zach Ertz coming off last week?

DOUG PEDERSON: Yeah, this time of the year we've got a lot of players that are nicked up. He's just one of those guys. He's got a little ankle [injury] right now, getting treatment on it. Wanted to get some added rest. And Ertz the same way. Feeling good and had a really good week so far of practice. But in Alshon's case, just, again, this time of year with everybody being a little sore and nicked up, just wanted to give him a little extra rest.

Q. How long has Alshon Jeffery been dealing with that ankle injury?

DOUG PEDERSON: It's been kind of lingering a little while. There's no really one particular game or instance. It's hard for me to even put a finger on when it happened or how it happened. It's something in his case with all the cutting and stopping and starting and practice and games and just where we are at that time of the year, you're going to start seeing more and more guys either added to the list or taking some reps off in practice so we can keep them healthy for Sunday.

Q. Do you expect him to go Sunday?

DOUG PEDERSON: I expect him -- I'm optimistic that he will go, yes.

Starting cornerback Ronald Darby and starting tight end Zach Ertz were full participants in practice all week. They’re both set to return to action on Sunday night, which is good news for Philly.

DALLAS COWBOYS INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)

The Cowboys are dealing with several injuries. Not to mention that star running back Ezekiel Elliott is still out as he serves the second game of his six game suspension.

Starting linebacker Sean Lee and kicker Dan Bailey have officially been ruled OUT for Sunday’s game.

Lee’s absence is a big loss for a Cowboys defense that ranks 17t in opponent yards per play and 22nd in defensive DVOA.

The Cowboys have allowed opposing quarterbacks to post a passer rating of 85.6 with Lee on the field, which has risen all the way to 107.8 with Lee sidelined.

Even worse, opposing offenses have averaged 3.5 yards per carry with Lee at linebacker and more than 5.5 yards per attempt with Lee on the bench.

As for Bailey, he’s one of the best kickers in the NFL. His replacement, Mike Nugent, missed a 38-yard field goal in Week 10.

At least two other Dallas starters are in serious jeopardy of missing Sunday’s game. Reports indicate starting left tackle Tyron Smith will not play against the Eagles. Smith did not participate in practice all week.

If Smith can’t play, Byron Bell is expected to start against Philadelphia. The Cowboys started Chaz Green, who allowed five sacks to Atlanta, over him last week. Bell gave up 3.5 sacks to the Eagles when they faced him in 2014.

Starting safety Jeff Heath has also been out all week as he recovers from a concussion. If he can’t play, rookie safety Xavier Woods might start on the back end.

Cowboys starting defensive tackle Maliek Collins is also questionable to play. He was limited in practice all week. The same goes for backup tight end Geoff Swaim.

Dez Bryant and rookie cornerback Chidobe Awuzie are set to be healthy for this week’s game. They’re not listed on the final injury report.
