If you could pick one and only one player who could be described as the ultimate Philadelphia Eagles player, who would it be?

That’s right: Brian Dawkins.

And that’s a big reason why Bleeding Green Nation’s podcast, BGN Radio, is launching a new campaign today called “Put Dawkins in the Hall.”

There’s no question Dawkins deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. And while you might think he’s a lock (he probably is), the Pro Football Hall of Fame voters have been way too slow to vote safeties in. So that’s why BGN Radio is starting a campaign to help Dawk’s case.

More details from our campaign page at BGNRadio.com:

Passion, Integrity, Playmaking, Longevity, Respect.

These are the marks of a Hall of Fame player. These are the marks of Brian Dawkins.

Over the course of his 16 NFL seasons, Brian Dawkins was a star. His unique blend of toughness, athleticism, savvy, and smarts changed the safety position forever. He was elected to the Pro Bowl nine times. He was All Pro four times. In part because his intensity is unmatched:

"The NFL will miss a player as talented, ferocious, and determined as Brian Dawkins. He was one of the most dedicated and hardest working players I have ever coached. Whether it was on the practice field, the film room or the weight room, Brian always put in the extra hours it took to become the star player that he was. And he transferred all of that and more onto the field on Sundays." - Andy Reid

Brian Dawkins is an icon. He's the heart and soul of an Eagles team that went to 5 NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl. His love for the fans is legendary...and now he needs our help!

According to the official website, there are only 4 safeties that have made it to the Hall of Fame. The most recent addition, Kenny Easley, wasn't elected until 20 years after his retirement. It's hard to make the Hall as a safety. That's where you come in!

Below are a number of ways to have your voice heard. Pick as many as you'd like! The football world needs to know our message...
