Eagles release “estimated” injury report in advance of Panthers game

Update on the Eagles’ injury situation.

The Philadelphia Eagles released their first injury report on Monday in advance of their Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night. Note that the Eagles held a walkthrough today. This practice report is an estimation.

Three players did not practice: starting cornerback Ronald Darby, starting right tackle Lane Johnson, and running back Wendell Smallwood. Darby could be a week or so away from returning. Johnson suffered a concussion and is unlikely to play on Thursday. Smallwood not practicing on Monday doesn’t seem like a good sign for his playing chances. The Eagles will likely be relying on the trio of LeGarrette Blount, Corey Clement, and Kenjon Barner yet again.

Four players were limited: starting defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, defensive tackle Beau Allen, defensive tackle Destiny Vaeao, and defensive end Chris Long. It seems like a positive sign that Cox was limited considering he’s been out since getting hurt in Week 3. Maybe he has a chance to play in this week’s game. The Eagles’ defense could sure use him.

Four players were full participants in practice: starting safety Rodney McLeod, starting linebacker Jordan Hicks, safety Corey Graham, and safety Jaylen Watkins. No concerns here. It’s a little interesting how Watkins fully participated all last week but was listed questionable and did not play in Week 5. Maybe he’ll be back this week.
