The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to make some roster moves this week after officially placing Jason Peters and Jordan Hicks on injured list.
In the meantime, the Eagles have made a change to their practice squad. 24-year-old defensive end Alex McCalister was cut on Tuesday, according to the NFL’s official transaction page.
McCalister was selected by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He pushed for a roster spot this offseason before being waived in final cuts.
Philly brought McCalister back to their practice squad earlier this month on October 10. Now he’s gone again.
Given the way the Eagles have regularly shuffled their practice squad around, it’s entirely possible McCalister returns this season.
Maybe the Birds just got rid of McCalister because they wanted more depth at offensive tackle or linebacker instead of having an extra defensive end in practice.
Stay tuned for more roster moves.
