Carson Wentz is the favorite to win NFL MVP after the first six weeks of the season

Just like everyone thought.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-1 and Carson Wentz is an MVP candidate.

Sorry, that’s not entirely accurate.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-1 and Carson Wentz is the MVP favorite.

Just check the latest Most Valuable Player odds from Bovada:

Now’s the time where everyone points out that it’s only been six weeks, still early in the season, etc. And that’s all obviously true.

But it’s incredible to think Wentz is already getting this kind of buzz despite the fact he’s only in his second year.

Through six starts this season, Wentz has completed 60.9% of his passes for 1,584 yards, 13 touchdowns, three interceptions, and a 99.6 passer rating. (He has also rushed for 133 yards.) If Wentz keeps on this pace, he’ll finish the season with 4,224 yards, 35 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

Prior to this season, Bovada listed Wentz’s MVP odds at 100/1. 28 players had better odds. And Wentz was tied with eight others for 29th.

Wentz is far from a finished product; there are still aspects of his game that can afford to improve. But there’s no denying the progress No. 11 has made is very impressive.

The Eagles will hope Wentz can continue to stay hot as the team looks to clich their first playoff berth since the 2013 season.
