Former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Nolan Carroll has been released by the Dallas Cowboys, according to a report from NFL insider Mike Garafolo.
Shocking, I know.
Carroll signed with the Cowboys for $10 million over three years ($3 million signing bonus) in free agency this offseason after the Eagles didn’t show much interest in bringing the 30-year-old defender back to Philly. He was arrested for DWI earlier this year and made two starts for Dallas before suffering a concussion in Week 2.
Now Carroll is out of a job.
So ... since he’s available, should the Eagles have interest in re-signing him? Haha. Just kidding. Philly is clearly moving forward with their group of young cornerbacks: Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills, Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones. Thankfully, they don’t need Carroll anymore.
It’s just too bad that he didn’t stick in Dallas long enough for the Eagles’ wide receivers to be able to beat him in coverage over and over.
You can’t say we didn’t warn you, Cowboys fans.
Hey Cowboys, good luck with that new signing https://t.co/WJMuRAXQep

And while we’re at it, it’s time to look at some old tweets that certainly look funny now.
Not scared about Scandrick being out? That’s because Nolan Carroll is there, time to be grateful for that. #Cowboys https://t.co/m3CKpKL6iA

Nolan Carroll was maybe THE most improved CB in NFL over last 2 yrs. Eager to see if free agency rewards that.

Without 6-1, 205-lb vet Nolan Carroll, Cowboys had to put 5-10 rookie JLewis on 6-2, 220-lb DAdams. Easy winning throw for ARodg.

No Sean Lee. No Nolan Carroll. No Woozy. No Hitchens. Will be long hard day for D. But early "win" on 3rd-7. 3-all. Drive, O, drive.
