Happy New Year!

Let’s hope it is after the Eagles host the Cowboys.

Dallas has nothing meaningful to play for, having wrapped up the top seed in the NFC. They are expected to play their starters to begin the game but end with backups taking the majority of snaps. Still, beating a division rival using mostly your backups is pretty strong bragging rights. Though Dak Prescott is not expected to play much, the Cowboys might keep Ezekiel Elliott in to break Eric Dickerson’s rookie rushing record of 1,808 yards. Elliott has 1,631 yards.

For the Eagles, they have a few things to play for. Closing out at 7-9 on a two game win streak would end the season on a high note and with good feelings. If the Vikings should lose to the Bears, the Eagles could further improve their draft stock with a win.

And of course, beating the Cowboys is always great.

Predictions

Score: Eagles 27, Cowboys 17

Bold Prediction: Tony Romo’s final pass as a Cowboy is an interception.
