Report: Eagles sign Paul Turner to practice squad

Crisis averted.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles are signing preseason standout wide receiver Paul Turner to their practice squad, reports CSN's Dave Zangaro.

Turner had made the initial 53 man roster on Saturday, but was waived on Sunday after the Eagles claimed three players, including WR Bryce Treggs.

Turner, an undrafted free agent out of Lousiana Tech after transferring from LSU, quickly became a fan favorite with strong performances in the preseason, displaying good hands, highlighted by a dazzling one handed catch.

Turner led the league with 17 receptions and was 8th in yards with 165. He scored no receiving touchdowns but had an impressive 71 yard punt return for a touchdown in the preseason finale against the Jets.

Turner quickly established himself as a fan favorite on an otherwise mundane preseason for the Eagles offense. Turner is the 10th and final player signed to the Eagles practice squad, which is now comprised of:

FB Andrew Bonnet
LB Don Cherry
LB Quentin Gause
G Darrell Greene
WR Marcus Johnson
RB Byron Marshall
C Aaron Neary
DT Aziz Shittu
WR Paul Turner
WR David Watford
