Updated list of Philadelphia Eagles future NFL draft picks

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Here's an update on the status of the Philadelphia Eagles' draft picks over the next few years, as of September 6. There have been some big changes due to recent events.

The Eagles don't have their own first round pick in 2017 due to the Carson Wentz trade. The Browns own that selection.

Much was made about how the Eagles didn't have a first round pick in 2017 because next year's NFL Draft is going to be hosted in Philadelphia. Thanks to the Sam Bradford trade, however, the Eagles are back in the first. Minnesota projects to be a good team so the pick could be a mid-to-late first. Still, getting any kind of first round pick for a lame duck starter like Bradford is a very good deal.

The Eagles have two fourth round picks in 2017. The pick from the Browns is a conditional one. If the Browns receive a fourth round compensatory pick, then the Eagles will receive that selection. If not, then the Browns will only have to give up their fifth round pick. Cleveland allowed a lot of their free agents to sign with other teams this offseason so it seems likely the Eagles will get the fourth round pick. It's just worth noting that pick won't high as Cleveland's own fourth rounder since compensatory picks are awarded at the end of each round.

Philadelphia was slated to receive a seventh round pick from the Broncos if Mark Sanchez made Denver's final roster but the veteran quarterback ended up getting cut. The Sanchez trade was still worth it for the Eagles because the team saved an extra $1 million by trading him as opposed to releasing him.

The Browns own Philadelphia's second round pick in 2018 due to the Carson Wentz trade.

At the very least, the Eagles will receive a 2018 fourth round pick from the Vikings due to the Bradford trade. That pick can elevate to a third round selection if the Vikings reach the NFC Championship Game. The pick can become a second if the Vikings win the Super Bowl. If the Eagles receive a second or third instead of a fourth, however, Philadelphia must send their own seventh round selection to Minnesota.

The Eagles received the third 2018 fourth round pick from the Patriots when they traded Eric Rowe for OL Josh Kline. According to reports, the pick can get as high as a third round pick based on incentives. The details of the incentives are still unclear. We'll update this when we learn the terms of the pick.

Eagles 2019 Draft Picks

2019 is included here because it's the first year the Eagles won't owe the Browns any picks. Following the Wentz trade, there was a lot of talk about how the Eagles "mortgaged their future" in order to draft the young quarterback. Thanks to the Bradford deal and the Rowe deal, however, the Eagles were able to restock some valuable future assets.
