The Eagles really, really wanted to make Adam Gase their head coach this offseason. The quarterback-whispering former offensive coordinator of the Bears decided to head to Miami instead. Now the Dolphins are 1-2, and heading to Cincinnati in a game they will most likely lose, while Doug Pederson is having the time of his life coaching Carson Wentz in Philadelphia. Oh, what could have been, Adam.
The Bengals, meanwhile, are surprisingly 1-2 after three games this year, with two losses to two very good teams in the Steelers and the Broncos, and their only win a one-point squeaker over the lowly Ryan Fitzpatricks (gross).
No, this isn’t the highest-pedigree matchup ever, but the Eagles play the Bengals in Week 13, in the midst of the hardest part of the Birds’ schedule, so tonight’s game is worth watching for future-scouting.
