The Eagles practice Thursday, ahead of their Monday Night Football matchup with the Chicago Bears. As expected, Zach Ertz and Leodis McKelvin were held out of practice.
Here's a full report.
Zach Ertz
Ertz (rib) was not expected to practice Thursday, so this isn't news. He suffered the rib displacement injury this past Sunday against the Browns. Doug Pederson has said Ertz is week to week, and Thursday morning he said he wouldn't rule Ertz out, but it seems likely Ertz will miss the team's Week 2 matchup with the Bears.
Leodis McKelvin
McKelvin (hamstring) suffered a hamstring strain against the Browns and missed the end of the game. He, like Ertz, was not expected to practice Thursday, and is also considered week to week by Doug Pederson. The word out of practice today was that McKelvin is hoping to play on Monday, but if he can't go against Chicago, rookie Jalen Mills will take his spot at the seconx outside corner position.
Kenjon Barner
Barner's absence from practice was listed by the team as a non-injury absence, which often means something like a player attending to a family matter, or something else unforeseen. We'll see if the team updates us on why Barner missed practice.
Trey Burton
After missing practice last week and missing Sunday's opener, Burton was back as a full participant on Thursday. He was expected to see a good bit of involvement in the Eagles' offense after a strong summer and preseason; look for Burton to step into Zach Ertz's role and make some plays.
Bryce Treggs
The waiver wire acquisition wide receiver was out of practice all of last week, and inactive on game day. We'll see what his role is going forward.
Bears
Cornerback Kyle Fuller (knee) was the only Bears player limited at practice today.
