Former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is unemployed no longer. Foles, who was released by the Los Angeles Rams last week, has reportedly agreed to terms with the Chiefs on a two-year deal. In Kansas City, Foles is reunited with his former head coach: Andy Reid.
The Cowboys reportedly showed some interest in Foles after top backup Kellen Moore suffered a broken fibula in practice this week. Dallas missed out on Foles, however, and now all they have backing up the injury-prone 36-year-old Tony Romo is fourth round rookie Dak Prescott.
Back to Foles. The 27-year-old passer is coming off a downright terrible season in 2015. He was arguably the worst starting quarterback in the entire league. Despite signing an extension with the Rams last offseason, Foles got benched in favor of Case Keenum during the season.
The Chiefs need a new backup behind Alex Smith after Chase Daniel left Kansas City to sign with the Eagles in free agency. Tyler Bray and Aaron Murray are the two other quarterbacks on the Chiefs' roster. Perhaps Foles will fare better now that he'll be in a backup role and he'll be working with the coach who drafted him into the NFL.
