Philadelphia's football team won a championship.
That's a sentence Eagles fans are waiting to be able to say again one day. In the meantime, it holds true for Philadelphia's other football team. The Soul defeated the Arizona Rattlers in the Arena Bowl on Friday evening by a final score of 56 to 42. Any title win is obviously something to enjoy, but this win was especially meaningful for the Soul since the Rattlers are one of the most successful teams in the Arena Football League.
This championship win marks the Soul's second career championship since their first title win in 2008, when Jon Bon Jovi owned the team. Now former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski is in charge of the franchise. Former Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil is also part of the team's ownership group.
The Eagles are set to work out two Soul players during practice on Monday.
