The Philadelphia Eagles waived wide receiver Hunter Sharp with an injury settlement on Wednesday afternoon.
Sharp signed with the Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent earlier this year. Philadelphia gave him the fifth most amount of guaranteed money out of their 17 UDFA signings.
The former Utah State pass catcher missed the Eagles' first two preseason games and wasn't scheduled to play this week against the Indianapolis Colts. In other words, Sharp missed a lot of valuable practice reps and game snaps.
With Sharp gone, the Eagles' roster is now down to 83 players. All 32 NFL teams must trim their roster down to the 75-man limit in less than a week from now by Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 4:00 PM ET. Then all teams will play their fourth and final preseason game on Thursday, Sept. 1 before the cut down to 53 players is due by Saturday, Sept. 3 at 4:00 PM ET.
