Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
Matthews says he'll be back for opener, if not sooner - Inquirer
Matthews also liked the addition of Dorial Green-Beckham, whom Matthews worked out with in Arizona. Matthews said he calls the 6-foot-5, 237-pound receiver "LeBron James" because of his imposing figure, and he thinks Green-Beckham will benefit from the Eagles' culture.
Undrafted rookie WR Paul Turner should make the Eagles' 53-man roster - PhillyVoice
"P.T., I love watching him ball," said Eagles receiver Jordan Matthews. "He's been great. If there's one thing that's come out of me being out, it's him getting extra reps. I think he deserves those reps. He's worked extremely hard, he's been consistent in camp too. So you like to see a guy like that be able to come in when a guy like me goes down and be able to make plays."
Seumalo To Start Again; Kendricks, Mills Return - Birds 24/7
Isaac Seumalo will start at left guard again when the Eagles play the Colts next Saturday, Doug Pederson announced this morning. While Seumalo doesn’t have the starting job locked up when Allen Barbre moves to right tackle, he does have the edge. “Isaac’s really put himself in a good position to help us offensively,” Pederson said. “I feel like he’s getting better with every snap and with every rep. It wasn’t perfect — by no means — but at the same time, he’s done an outstanding job, along with Allen. Allen, I thought, had a great game at right tackle as well. He really settled into the role, and [we’ll] try to keep that same combination going this week.
Updating the LB Situation - Iggles Blitz
Joe Walker’s ACL injury is a tough blow for the Eagles. He played well in enough in Training Camp and the preseason games that I think the team would have been comfortable with him as the backup MLB. Now he’s gone and Don Cherry moves into that spot, although on a very temporary basis. Cherry has had some good moments in the preseason, but he’s not played to the level where you would want him on the field in a real game. I don’t know if he has that level of talent in him. The Eagles need to bring in someone from the outside, be it Stephen Tulloch, some other veteran or even another young player. They need someone with starting potential.
Preseason interceptions proof Eagles' rebuilt secondary buying into new scheme - CSN Philly
Does it mean the Eagles are going to come out in the regular season and pick up three or four interceptions per game? Nope. But it does mean the guys in this rebuilt secondary are picking up Jim Schwartz’s scheme, transferring what they’ve learned at practice onto the field and taking advantage of the opportunities they're getting. Which is better than the alternative.
Should Eagles bring back linebacker DeMeco Ryans?- NJ.com
The Eagles are looking for a backup middle linebacker behind starter Jordan Hicks. Veteran middle linebacker and former Eagles captain DeMeco Ryans is looking for a job. Could it be the perfect match? Ryans isn't the player he once was when he was going to Pro Bowls for Houston, or even the player he was when he was leading the Eagles defense in tackles every year. Achilles injuries have robbed him of speed and agility, which is why the team let him go and no other team has signed him yet. He might be as good of an option as there is for the Eagles at this point.
Stating The Case For Eagles Offense - PE.com
In the bare-bones world that is NFL preseason football, the play calling is kept very basic, the pre-game scouting is minimal and the emphasis is on the evaluation of players, not schemes. In other words, what you see in the preseason isn’t often what you get in the regular season, as Eagles fans found out very quickly last year ...
